How does a step challenge with friends work?
You create the challenge in the app and everyone who joins pays the same entry fee. Each player has to hit the same daily step goal, on every day of the challenge, and the pot is shared between everyone who makes it. You are not playing against each other: everyone in the challenge has the same goal, and everyone can reach it.
What you set, and what you cannot
These are the things you set yourself:
- Steps per day
- Between 5,000 and 20,000, in steps of 500. The default is 8,000.
- How long
- 1 to 31 days. The default is 7.
- Cheat days
- From none up to one fewer than the number of days. You cannot miss every day and still win, so a one-day challenge allows none. The default is 1.
- Entry fee
- €2 to €10, in whole euros. The default is €5.
Challenge title
A challenge title can be 15 characters. Short and recognisable works better than descriptive here, because the title has to stay readable on the card in the app.
When it can start
Tomorrow at the earliest, and 30 days ahead at the latest.
Tomorrow, so everyone gets a full first day. And a month at most, because a challenge that starts far away is one people forget they joined.
If nobody joins
You still play. You paid, the challenge runs, and you play it alone against your own goal.
